Christmas Showcase & Industry Guest Lectures.

Students are busy preparing for the Christmas Showcase of their work-in-progress to be held 19th December. This 1-day event will feature live performing arts, films, 3D animations, interactive media, photography, presentations and feedback sessions.

Our Industry Guest Lecture series has been a great success. We were delighted to welcome a wide range of industry luminaries including Se Merry Doyle, Robbie Fry, Stephen Murnane, Imogen Murphy and Tim Morris.
The series will continue next term.

We are also pleased to announce that we are working with Bradford WWI Film School. We have already organised tutor exchange and will be welcoming Bradford WWI students to Dublin in 2014.

Applications for Sept 2013.

We hope you are enjoying the sunny Summer – rain or shine :)

We are currently interviewing for our full-time courses. We will be accepting applications up to mid-Sept.

Please give us a call or drop us an email if you would like to talk to a tutor about any aspect of our programmes.

High Scores and Excellent Student Feedback

Our students have once again achieved a record number of Distinction grades at BTEC HND and HNC level. The BTEC HND Performing Arts ‘Devised Piece’ was singled out for special mention by examiners as an example of ‘industry best practice.’

Examiner reports highlighted the overwhelmingly positive feedback from students on their time spent at National Media College. Tutors were described as ‘experts in their field with an excellent range of complementary skills.’

We are interviewing now for Sept 2013. Please contact for further info.

Films, Photoshoots, Digital Effects, Performing Arts and Internships

It’s been a busy Winter semester.
We have a large number of films in various stages of production (including a zombie pic shooting this weekend near Phoenix Park), daily photo-shoots in the studio (images below), regular performing arts rehearsals and performances, mind-boggling digital effects in development (created in 3D Max and AfterEffects), MA-level research on Photography and Film practice being researched and presented.

HND/HNC students have attended interviews at UK Universities for entry Sept 2013. Several have already secured their first-choice course places.

As if that’s not enough, many of our students have secured part-time internship positions in various media companies in Dublin. They are gaining valuable real-world experience to augment their NMC education. We even have a ‘man in the Oireachtas!’

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, industry feedback on our previous graduates is excellent.

2012 Round Up

Our MA programmes launched this year and the students had a busy week delivering over 9 hours of presentations for review/feedback.

The Christmas Student Showcase took place on 20th Dec in the College. It was a great day of live performing arts, films, music videos, photography, and journalism presentations. BTEC HND Journalism students Ross and Manoela presented a radio documentary they worked on at the Q102 studios under the supervision of David Harrington.
Our Photography gallery has been updated recently and we will publish more work in the New Year.

In the meantime, hope you are having a fantastic Christmas break and all the best for the New Year.
